Astute readers of this story about yesterday’s reverse prostitution sting in Sioux Falls might notice a few of the names of those charged with “hiring for sexual activity” –
Thing 1: Robert Corsini was arrested on the same charge a prostitution investigation a little over two weeks ago.
Thing 2: Joe Panaia has a tendency to make headlines.
Panaia is self-proclaimed pastor made a lot of news back in 2009 while attempting to open a youth ministry center in Tea through an organization he founded called “Bridging the Gap” ministries.
Trouble was, Mr. Panaia was a registered sex offender. He’d also been charged with bigamy in Maryland. Oh, and then there was the accusation he’d stolen money from Lifelight, one of the nation’s highest-profile Christian festivals.
Most of this stuff was uncovered by then-courts reporter Josh Verges.
Here’s Pastor Joe, in a picture from his rarely-used twitter feed.

Interestingly, Panaia’s name was removed from South Dakota’s sex offender registry a few years back after the state law changed for those convicted of misdemeanor indecent exposure. That’s what Panaia pleaded guilty to.
